Daring proves tough for Tyner

Daring Article opened his account over timber with a hard fought success in the two-and-a-half mile maiden hurdle at Cork.

Philip Enright always had his mount prominent and he took over from Prince Ludovic with five to jump.

Felix Younger tried hard to challenge the winner down the straight but couldn't get to the Robert Tyner-trained 13/8 favourite .

The Definite Article gelding kept on well for pressure to record a two-and-a-quarter length success.

The winner had run into a smart sort in Jetson over course and distance earlier this month having taken a Tipperary bumper previously.

"He'll come back here in two weeks time for a staying novice hurdle," reported the trainer's wife Mary. "The better the gallop the better he is."
