Darsi Off To Stud

French Derby winner Darsi has been bought by Highflyer Bloodstock to stand at stud.

The Alain de Royer-Dupre-trained son of Polish Precedent beat Best Name in the Prix du Jockey-Club at Chantilly and was then sent over to contest the Irish Derby.

However, racing in the colours of the Aga Khan, he could only finish seven lengths behind Dylan Thomas in fifth.

'He was having a rest and we had a good offer,' said Georges Rimaud, racing manager to the Aga Khan.

'We looked at the options, which included keeping him in training next year, but we decided to sell.

'He was a brave and courageous horse who had both speed and stamina,' Rimaud told the Racing Post.
