Sean Davis was another to gain a breakthrough winner at Dundalk today as Porsche Lad gave him his first success as a trainer.

Davis also continues to ride and was actually in Wolverhampton today to partner two of his runners there tonight.

Rory Cleary did the steering on Porsche Lad and produced the well-backed 9/4 favourite (12/1 this morning) to lead over a furlong from home in the ten furlong handicap.

The Cotai Glory gelding stuck on well in the closing stages to record a length-and-a-half win over Pillar Of Hope

Cleary said afterwards:- "Great to get that first winner for Sean, he's a hard worker and I would have ridden against him. I'm a good friend of his.

"He's over in England today (two runners at Wolverhampton), so I'm glad he put me up on him.

"I rode work for Seanie a bit and he's a horse that has been coming along nicely. They liked him a lot last year and things kind of just went a bit wrong with him. He just took his time to mature and come into things.

"His work up until now has been good enough and it wasn't the strongest of races. He did it nicely and still showed signs of being a little bit immature when he got to the front.

"You'd be hoping he would step forward from that run again, and hopefully Seanie is away in England the next day and I can ride him again!"
