Death of Brendan Keating

The death has taken place of Brendan Keating, known to many as "the white flagman" at Irish racecourses for a number of decades until his retirement in 2008.

Brendan, or Fatser as he was affectionately called by his former colleagues and many friends, worked in racing for about forty years initially as a starting stalls handler before his Turf Club role as the white flagman.

His remains will be removed from Cunningham’s Funeral Home, Clonsilla to St. Brigid’s Church, Blanchardstown tomorrow (Tuesday) evening arriving at 6pm.

The funeral mass will take place on Wednesday at 11am before his burial in Mulhuddart Cemetery.
