Deegan's Sruthan back on track for Concorde Paul Deegan has expressed his delight at getting Sruthan back on the track after a 167-day absence in the Coolmore Stud House Of Champions Concorde Stakes at Tipperary on Sunday. The five-year-old ran twice in the spring and makes his return in a race he won in 2013 and was third in 12 months ago. "He had one little hold-up in the summer, but mainly we've just been waiting on the ground," said Deegan. "Fingers crossed we get another couple of runs into him before the end of the season. There are a few options. "If he wins one it's job done for the year and we can look forward to next spring then." Onenightidreamed, who defeated Sruthan by a nose in the Group Three Amethyst Stakes at the Currgah in May, is also having his first run since then. Connections of the Tommy Stack-trained four-year-old would love conditions to be as soft as possible. "Hopefully he'll enjoy a good end to the season and the softer the ground the better, so I wouldn't mind a drop of rain for him," said Fozzy Stack, the trainer's son and assistant. Ken Condon feels he has to run Bold Thady Quill, although Tipperary does not bring out the best in the eight-year-old. "It's not his track. He's in rude health, but Tipperary does not play to his strengths," said Condon. "Tipperary is a quick, sharp turning track so it's going to be difficult for him. "We haven't got many options for him. He's probably going to run in the Curragh after this and that course suits him better. "The horse is well and we don't have any decent handicaps left for him. There's one at Limerick, but that wouldn't be his track either. "He ran very well at Leopardstown on Champions weekend and in the Irish Cambridgeshire at the Curragh, but he'll find it hard." Dermot Weld, successful last year with Big Break, has a leading contender in Khalid Abdullah's Tested, while British interests lie with Sovereign Debt, from Dandy Nicholl's North Yorkshire yard. The latter will be ridden by Kieren Fallon, who has recently returned from a stint in America.
