Deep Speed wins on U.S. debut

Deep Speed formerly trained on the Curragh by Paul Hickey has won on his American debut on the turf at Bemont Park.

The 4-y-o son of Invincible Spirit was twice successful for Hickey at the turn of the year on the all-weather surface at Dundalk before moving to be trained by Rick Mettee in New York.

The race at Belmont Park was an allowance race with a value of $77,000.
