Eight Till Late deservedly won his first race in over two years when adding a win to two recent second placings in the John Kennedy Motors (Toyota) Clonmel Beginners Chase. Valgor Du Ronceray and Definite Income were chasing the Andrew Ring-ridden Eight Till Late when they came to grief independently at the second last.

That left Eight Till Late with just the final fence to negotiate which he did for a four and a quarter length verdict over Jack Slade Cable would have been placed had he not departed at the last.

Peter Casey trains Eight Till Late (5/2 joint favourite) for the Early To Late Syndicate.

A.E. Lynch, rider of Allduckornodinner trained by J.T.R.Dreaper, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung coming down the hill.
