Corker Hill put a spell of seconditis to bed when taking the Christmas Party Nights at Dundalk Stadium Handicap in fine style.

Derek McCormack, partnering his first winner in 12 months, sent the well-backed 4/1 favourite (from 7’s) past the front-running Cappadocia over a furlong out.

The Noel Lawlor-trained filly soon asserted and, despite drifting left, kept on really well inside the final furlong to score by over three lengths. Havelock Ellis kept on well down the centre of the track to get up for second, with Cappadocia just a neck further back in third.

Corker Hill filled the runner-up spot on her three previous starts and sports the colours of Frank Hynes from Edenderry, who has enjoyed plenty of success in recent weeks with the speedy Kimbay.
