Dettori Must Make One His Lucky Number

Frankie Dettori will have to produce a repeat performance of last year's thrilling victory if he is to capture a fourth Dubai World Cup crown after Discreet Cat was handed the inside draw for Saturday's 6million showpiece.

Dettori created history in 2006 as Electrocutionist became the first horse to win the prestigious event from gate number one since its inauguration in 1996.

However, with the smallest-ever field contesting this year's renewal, Discreet Cat's trainer Saeed Bin Suroor feels the draw will not prove as crucial as in previous runnings.

'I'm not really worried at all about the draw because there's only seven horses in the race,' he said.

'There should be plenty of opportunity to make a move. Frankie (Dettori) knows the horse really well and I would like to see him running in the middle, nice and relaxed before pushing towards the finish line.'
