Dettori keen on Osaila in 1000 Guineas Frankie Dettori feels Osaila has "a good chance" of providing him with his first British Classic win since Blue Bunting when she runs in the Qipco 1000 Guineas. The Richard Hannon-trained filly showed classy form as a juvenile and was the clear pick heading into the Nell Gwyn at Newmarket. She overcame a wide draw to win cosily and give Dettori, who last tasted Classic glory in the 1000 Guineas in 2011, a realistic chance of further cementing his partnership with Al Shaqab Racing. "She went into the race with the best form, she was drawn badly, everything went wrong but she still won," said the former champion jockey. "She hasn't come in her coat so hopefully she can improve a little bit more and she should have a good chance in the Guineas." Dettori also won aboard John Gosden's Golden Horn in the Feilden Stakes and he looks likely to head for the Dante Stakes at York. "He'd been working well. He's still a big baby and it's taken time for him to understand racing, but we know he's got an engine," Dettori said. "He needs to get used to that but he did it well." News broke on Thursday that Dettori would no longer be required to travel to France to ride the Al Shaqab horses trained across the Channel, with that role now being taken by Gregory Benoist. "It was a bit too much for me going over there twice a week and there's enough horses now for us to both do a good job," he said.
