Dettori on Golden Horn in Derby Owner Anthony Oppenheimer has confirmed Frankie Dettori is set to ride ante-post favourite Golden Horn in the Investec Derby at Epsom on June 6. Dettori chose to ride Jack Hobbs in the Dante Stakes at York last week but the popular Italian had to make do with second place behind the John Gosden-trained stablemate. William Buick rode Golden Horn on the Knavesmire, but he is retained by Godolphin, who have since partly bought Jack Hobbs, so the jockeys could do a swap for the Classic. Oppenheimer told At The Races: "It's an almost certainty that Frankie will be riding him. "The only remark I remember Frankie saying after the Dante is he felt very sad when Golden Horn passed him. "It's very exciting to have a really good horse. Whatever happens in the Derby, he will be a really good horse. He's in all the good races over a mile and a quarter later in the year." Dettori said: "O f course I'm excited. He was a good winner of the Dante and he's a worthy favourite for the Derby. "It brings back those memories of 2007 (Authorized's Derby success) when I didn't sleep for two weeks, so you can imagine how I feel right now." Just 16 horses remain engaged in the Derby after the latest forfeit stage, with Golden Horn due to be supplemented later. Aidan O'Brien has left in Gleneagles, despite stating the 2000 Guineas winner, who is running in the Irish Guineas this weekend, would not be asked to step up in trip. Stable companions Giovanni Canaletto, also due to run this weekend, Hans Holbein and Kilimanjaro are the other Ballydoyle possibles. Elm Park, Zawraq, Epicuris, Moheet and Best Of Times are also still engaged, but Highland Reel, Christophermarlowe and Sir Isaac Newton have all been taken out.
