Dinoblue (11/10) defeated stablemate Allegorie De Vassy (5/6f) to lead home a 1-2 for Willie Mullins in Naas’ three-runner Listed BBA Ireland Limited Opera Hat Mares Chase today, completing doubles for owner J.P. McManus and jockey Mark Walsh.

Outsider Must Be Obeyed lost touch from halfway and while winner Dinoblue raced on the inside, Allegorie De Vassy ran on better ground to the outside, with both horses racing wide apart in the home straight.

The pair were locked in battle from the second-last and while Dinoblue flicked through the final fence, battled well for a neck win.

Dinoblue was later cut to 5/2 (from 100/30) for the Mrs Paddy Power Mares Chase, with Mullins reporting “the two of them went a great gallop the whole way. There was no hiding place even though there was only the two of them involved.

“They will both go for the (Mrs Paddy Power) Mares Chase at Cheltenham and I’m very happy with both of them.”
