Paul Nolan’s string continues to be in good form and yesterday’s Fairyhouse winner HMS Seahorse could be a lively outsider in the Boodles juvenile handicap hurdle at next month’s Cheltenham Festival.

There was another near miss on the same card, though, for the Enniscorthy handler’s good servant Discorama who went down by a length to Full Time Score in the three-mile rated chase leaving Nolan to bemoan the Saddler Maker gelding’s lack of good fortune throughout his career.

“He’s run well but it’s disappointing to get beaten as he’s only won two races in his life and is a nine-year-old. It’s frustrating that he hasn’t been dropped at all as he’s never won a handicap.

“He ran well until the third last in the (Aintree Grand) National last year without a prep run and that is still the plan again.

“He’ll get an entry in the Ultima, the race he was third in at Cheltenham two years ago, and we’ll see what weight he gets in the National.”
