Doncaster on agenda for Killyglen Stuart Crawford has Nationals on his mind for Killyglen, who is to make his next appearance in the Sky Bet Chase at Doncaster on January 29. The strapping individual won the Mildmay Novices' Chase at Aintree in 2009 for Howard Johnson but his owner decided to move him closer to home this season and picked the County Antrim stable of Crawford. Killyglen has raced three times for his new trainer but only once over fences, when not exactly distinguishing himself behind Kauto Star at Down Royal. But his hurdling outings either side of that effort have been promising and he was third in a handicap at Punchestown on December 31st. "All being well it's the plan to go to Doncaster as he's better on better ground and Doncaster would be one of the better courses for that," said Crawford. "He probably ran to his hurdles form or maybe a wee bit above last time and hopefully he'll run well. "I think he is capable of winning a nice race in the spring and he will probably be entered for all of the Nationals. "We'd make a plan nearer the time."
