This afternoon's meeting at Doncaster will go ahead as planned but Ludlow will have to pass a second morning inspection at 10am if it is to get the green light.

An initial check was announced for 8am at Ludlow due to the threat of frost overnight, and temperatures got down to as low as minus 5C.

However, temperatures are due to rise through the course of the morning and officials remain hopeful racing will go ahead

A track statement read: "The sun up and is warming up, but there are a few areas of concern. We are hopeful."

Course officials at Doncaster announced a precautionary check for 8am due to the threat of frost overnight and temperatures did dip below freezing.

However, frost did not penetrate the ground and the course is fit to race ahead of a seven-race card that gets under way at 2pm.
