Dorset Square wins Cheltenham thriller Willie Mullins' Dorset Square (15-2) won a thrilling Jardine Lloyd Thompson Handicap Hurdle from Pettifour (16-1) at Cheltenham. Nigel Twiston-Davies' runner-up had been off the track for 605 days but showed no signs of rustiness as he hit the front half a mile from home. He looked like he might get there under Sam Twiston-Davies but Dorset Square had other ideas, getting up by a head under Danny Mullins. Oscargo was the well-backed 3-1 favourite and he was a further three-and-a-half lengths back in third with Raslan (16-1) fourth. Patrick Mullins, representing his father, said: "Danny's first ride at Cheltenham and he's given him an absolute peach. "He's just moved over here to work for Alan King and hopefully this is a springboard for him. We always thought this horse had a handicap like this in him." The winning trainer was at Naas, but his wife, Jackie, said: "It's been an extraordinary few days with Patrick winning yesterday and his cousin, Danny, winning today. "Willie stayed in Ireland as we've a few nice horses starting back this weekend. "We were shouting and roaring and making a holy show of ourselves. "Patrick thought we'd won, but I wasn't sure."
