Winner of her maiden over course and distance last time, the Dermot Weld trained Deressa showed her liking for the Kilkenny track when landing the @gowranpark1 On Twitter Fillies Race.

Chris Hayes settled the daughter of Zarak just off the pace early on, as Elegant Madame led Gotomylovely

Fifth entering the home straight, Hayes switched his mount to the outside, as Gotomylovely took over in front.

Moving second over a furlong out, Deressa pressed the leader before edging ahead with less than 100 yards left to race. The 7/2 chance kept on well to win by one-and-a-quarter lengths.

Weld and Hayes were completing doubles having been successful with Pierre Royal earlier on the card.

Dermot Weld said: “She’s a course and distance winner and she backed it up today.

“It was a good ride from Chris Hayes who is riding with a lot of confidence.

“I’ve no definite plans at the moment but obviously you’d love to get a bit of black type with her later in the year.”
