Runner-up over course and distance on his previous outing last month, Global Skies went one better in the Bulmers Zero Handicap Hurdle over two miles, three furlongs at Clonmel.

Ricky Doyle, doubling up for the evening having won the opener on Dahoma brought the Mondialiste gelding from off the pace to head front-running Ned In The Park before two out and the five-year-old stayed on well to score by five lengths from Speakasyoufind

Global Skies was a winner over six furlongs at two when trained in Britain.

Tom Harney, assistant to winning trainer Ross O'Sullivan, said "He had a good run here the last day but jumped a little disappointingly then. His jumping was very slick today and he got the job done nicely. That previous run was his first time racing in a handicap on good ground, which caught him out a bit, but he had the experience today.

"It is great for Charlie Doocey, from Mayo but living in the UK, and it is his first horse with us."

Regarding his own new role as O'Sullivan's assistant, he added "I've retired from race-riding having had great times, and Ross gave me great opportunities as a jockey.

"I recently travelled to Australia where I helped with training and went to the Melbourne carnival with horses. I'm back full-time now so I've gone assistant to Ross which is a good gig, as it is a yard going places."
