Doyle doubles up on Quddwah in Foxrock Quddwah was another short-priced favourite to prevail on the opening day of Irish Champions Festival as he took the honours in the Group 2 Solonoway Stakes. He tracked the leader Audience towards the straight and he was bustled and ridden by James Doyle to get the measure of the game leader a furlong down. The even-money shot rolled home well in the closing stages to see it out by a length and a half from Audience (10/1). Ed Crisford said: “He did it really well, it’s nice to see him bounce back from his summer break. “There wasn’t much pace on and James put him in the prime posi. “I thought he was a little bit rusty when James asked him, but he finished off really well. “James is a super jockey and we like to use him a lot. He does really well for us and we’ve had a lot of success over the last few years with him. “He’s got the Daniel Wildenstein in France and there are races in America for him, there is a Grade 1 in October as well. “I guess we’ll just see how he is. He’s won quite a few Grade 2s so it would be nice to give him a crack at a Grade 1.” Doyle doubled up on Quddwah having also won the Kilternan Stakes on Arabian Crown (11/1).
