Donnacha O’Brien emulated his father Aidan and brother Joseph by sending out a winner at Killarney this evening as Drama Queen proved ultra tough in landing the TXODDS Fillies Maiden.

The well-bred daughter of Wootton Bassett was supported (from 12/1 overnight) to step forward from her previous two runs and the money proved correct.

The 5/1 shot led over a furlong out under Gavin Ryan but was strongly pressed by Plaza Athenee inside the final 150 yards, holding on gamely to score by a head. Stellar Quality took a long time to get going on debut but finished nicely three lengths back in third.

Ryan said, “She ran well the last day on a track which maybe didn't suit but coming down to Killarney on a lovely flat track suited and she was also up in trip.

"She travelled very comfortably the whole way and quickened up well. She has a lovely pedigree and handled that slower ground.

"It had taken a while for the penny to drop with her but today everything fell right."
