The Andrew McNamara trained Drombeg Dawn bids to follow up last year's success in the Irish Lincoln, the traditional curtain-raiser on the Flat, in the mile race at The Curragh on Sunday.

The six year old filly caused a 25/1 upset when winning the race last year, defeating Toraidhe by a short head in a tight finish.

McNamara reported “she is in great form and is as sweet as last year. The ground is much the same this year and she is down 2lbs (to 83) from last year so I'm hopeful of a big run again. She has also been covered by Holy Roman Emperor recently.”
