Dubai targets for Dolce N Karama Pat Shanahan is already looking forward to next year with his exciting prospect Dolce N Karama. The son of a lesser-known American sire in The Carbon Unit ran a huge race to be fourth in the Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster last month, defying odds of 200-1. A trip to Meydan and the Carnival is now the target for Shanahan's colt, who runs in the colours of Dubai-based businessman Jimmy Long. Shanahan said: "It was a hell of a run in the Racing Post Trophy, but it didn't surprise us. He's always shown us plenty of ability but what happened with him first time (at Wolverhampton), we don't know. He just didn't turn up. "The Racing Post race was the plan all along. I think a mile and a quarter could be his best trip next year but he surprised me a bit with the pace he showed at Doncaster. "He's flying out to Dubai in January to run in the Guineas Trial and hopefully he'll qualify on from there. "The boss man (Long) lives in Dubai and wants his horses to race there. The Guineas and possibly on to the Derby are his targets in Dubai."
