Dundalk plan for Derby runner-up Main Sequence could continue on the comeback trail in next month's Diamond Stakes at Dundalk. David Lanigan's stable star, who was second in last year's Investec Derby, was only just beaten by Mukhadram in the Brigadier Gerard Stakes at Sandown but was terribly disappointing when an even-money favourite against Brown Panther in a Listed race at Pontefract. There were, though, some green shoots of recovery when he finished third to Prince Bishop in last weekend's September Stakes at Sandown. "It's a possibility he could go over to Ireland on October 4," said Lanigan. "It was just good to see him put Pontefract behind him, and he was beaten by two good horses. "He came out of the race fine and if everything goes well, we can think about taking him to Dubai next year."
