Dunguib aiming for Cheltenham Dunguib is likely to go straight to the Cheltenham Festival without another run following his impressive victory at Navan on Sunday. The Philip Fenton-trained gelding was elevated to 8-1 ante-post favourite for the Weatherbys Champion Bumper with a 13-length romp over three-time scorer Luska Lad. "He'll be put away for a little while now," said the County Waterford-based handler. "The Champion Bumper is the idea at the moment. He'll have an easy time, possibly until maybe halfway through January, and we'll start him up again. "I imagine he'd go straight to the Festival without a run. "He's absolutely perfect this morning and he's out in the field. "The owner bought him as a foal and we had him all last season. "He looks like a nice one and he's not an overly gross horse. "We haven't done any schooling with him this year but last year he would have popped over a few hurdles."
