He’s My Hero overcame an absence of 1125 days to complete a 422/1 treble on the evening for local trainer Paul Nolan in the Wexford Racing Again 30th June INH Flat Race.

The son of Telescope, second to Croke Park on his only point-to-point start and also very promising in two previous bumper starts, attracted some support to make up for lost time and quotes of 10/1 earlier in the day were trimmed into 9/2 by the off.

The 7/4 favourite Weaponized was ridden to assert off the home bend but couldn’t shake off the challenge of He’s My Hero who got on top close home.

Jack Hendrick’s mount prevailed by half a length with Prince Malinas a further three and a quarter lengths away in third.

Nolan said, “He’s a horse that should improve an awful lot, and Jack said he blew up two furlongs from home.

“He had winter form; he was so difficult to train and had been off for so long. He obviously had enough done at home; I was worried about coming out with a horse that wouldn’t have been fit.

“He always showed that he was a decent horse, but he got injured. We had him back and then he went again.

“He’s had no complications since the last time he came in. We’re just delighted.

“He was only beaten a length by Croke Park in his point-to-point and then his form was good but unfortunately the injuries happened. He’s a decent horse.”
