Eagle pleasing connections November Handicap winner Open Eagle is closing in on his debut over hurdles for Willie Mullins. The six-year-old was last seen running away with the traditional end-of-season Flat showpiece at Doncaster by 12 lengths for David O'Meara, after which he was snapped up by Mullins to be trained for Supreme Horse Racing Club. Supreme racing manager Steve Massey said: "I was very impressed with Open Eagle when I saw him on the gallops the other day. He has schooled well and looks a natural." Massey added: "It seems that the plan is to take him to the Curragh next week for a proper schooling session, then to run him towards the end of the month. "There are plenty of options at the end of the month."
