Early morning ground check for Rock Trainer David Wachman will walk the course at Doncaster in the early hours of Saturday morning to decide whether Galileo Rock will take his chance in the Ladbrokes St Leger. The three-year-old has been disputing favouritism for the Town Moor Classic having been placed in both the Investec Derby at Epsom and the Irish Derby at the Curragh - but Wachman warned on Thursday his charge would only run if conditions were suitable. The County Tipperary handler has also declared Galileo Rock for the GAIN Irish St Leger at the Curragh on Sunday, but has stated his preference to run his chestnut at Doncaster, provided conditions are not too testing. Wachman said: "I'm going to walk the course around 5.30am on Saturday and we'll see where we are then. "The horse is due to fly over at 7am so we'll be able to decide whether to put him on the plane or get him off. "He seems in good form, so we'll see what happens with the weather." Doncaster's clerk of the course Roderick Duncan, who will be meeting up with Wachman, is anticipating further rain on Friday evening. Duncan said: "David Wachman's going to be here about 5.15 in the morning. "The forecast is still for the possibility of rainfall tonight. The forecast is not dissimilar to what it was on Thursday night, with showers pretty hit and miss and an estimate of between four and seven millimetres. We'll just have to see. "I walked it before racing today (Friday) and I think it's a little bit better than what we started on yesterday. Those walking with me thought there were areas that were getting nearer good. "I think the horse will be flown over if Mr Wachman is happy after we've walked the track. "I'm really pleased with how the track has stood it. They didn't make a mess of it yesterday. "It did dry out a bit yesterday and got a bit tacky. We'll see how we get on today." "He doesn't show anything in a morning, but we know on his (Investec) Derby second and his Dante win that he's top-notch. If he's back to that form he can win, but I can't say I'm convinced."
