Racing in a first time visor, Obscenity comfortably accounted for 22 rivals in the Future Stars Raceday 16th May Handicap.

A well-beaten third when last seen at Bellewstown a fortnight ago, the Newtown Anner Stud Farm-owned four-year-old put his best foot forward today.

Completing a double for Joey Sheridan and a cross-card treble for Joseph O'Brien, the 65-rated bay was settled behind the leaders and quickly shot clear when ridden to the front over a furlong from home.

Undoubtedly set for a significant rise in the weights, he ultimately eased to a five-and-a-half length win.

The Jim Bolger-trained Maeve Brennan was the other joint-favourite and she filled the runner-up spot, while Talk Show Host (50/1) and Faro Island (14/1) were close-up in third and fourth respectively.

"The headgear helped him and he liked the better ground as well. He did (really roll home off it) to be fair," O'Brien, who was earlier successful with Thundering On and Electric Night (at Limerick), reflected.

"Joey thought the better ground suited him."

STEWARDS REPORTS

Adam Caffrey, rider of Gotta Catch'em All trained by H.Rogers, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left all the way up the straight.

The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident close to the line involving Gotta Catch'em All, ridden by Adam Caffrey, and Faro Island (GB), ridden by W.J. Lee, where it appeared Faro Island crossed Gotta Catch'em All. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
