Ebaziyan heads MCR weights The Willie Mullins trained Ebaziyan heads the weights for the MCR (formerly Pierce) Hurdle at Leopardstown on Saturday. The shock 40-1 winner of the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle at Cheltenham in 2007, heads a maximum field of 30 for the race and is one of five entries for Willie Mullins, who won this race in 2002 with Adamant Approach. Charles Byrnes, successful with the well-backed Dromlease Express six years ago, runs last year’s third Cathalawn while other notable entries include the progressive Martin Brassil-trained Moville and the Gerry Keane-trained light-weight Steviemac, who has been the subject of decent support in recent weeks for the 2m handicap worth €60,100 to the winner. A field of five could go to post for the MCRNovice Chase – Dancing Tornado, Apt Approach, China Rock, Jessies Dream and Roberto Goldback – while the valuable Leopardstown Handicap Chase has attracted a field of 12 headed by 2008 Grand National runner-up King Johns Castle.
