Echo Of Faith (9/2 to 100/30) returned following a 79-day break to win Roscommon’s Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden today, scoring for trainer Jessica Harrington, owner Zhang Yuesheng and jockey Shane Foley.

Previously placed fourth in a useful Listowel maiden in June, the gelded son of Zhang’s stallion Lucky Vega today raced with the pace in a contest confined to horses rated 75 or less, and finished well to eventually score by three-parts of a length from Spinning Around .

Harrington reported “both the step up in trip and giving him a bit of extra time helped, because he’s a big horse.

“I went at him thinking he was a Lucky Vega so would be early (maturing), but my horses are only coming to themselves now. I think they are really starting to come to themselves.

“He has a great attitude, will probably stay a mile and likes that nice ground. We’ll see what mark he gets, he can’t be more than 75 or 80.”
