Eduard is set to miss the William Hill King George VI Chase and wait for the Betfair Ascot Chase in February.

Trainer Nicky Richards feels the Boxing Day feature at Kempton is likely to come too soon for Eduard after he finished second in the Peterborough Chase at Huntingdon on Sunday.

"He's only six years old and he's a horse in the making," Richards told At The Races.

"We'll let the dust settle a little bit. I think the King George will just come too quick for him. Also, I'm not sure about the soft ground at Kempton, it might not just suit him this year.

"I've a feeling we might wait for the Ascot Chase in February."
