Egan very happy with Ramsa Ramsa makes the leap to Pattern level on just her second start in Sunday's Derrinstown Stud 1,000 Guineas Trial at Leopardstown. Trained and ridden by John Egan, Ramsa finished a narrow second on her racecourse bow in a seven-furlong event at Naas. Egan was pleased enough with the daughter of Shamardal's effort that day and believes it is worth pitching her in at the deep end. "She ran a nice race first time and we hadn't really ask her too many questions at home," he said. "She went to the race certain to improve for the run and it was a nice introduction. "She finished second and has certainly come on for the run. "When you run in maidens you'll come up against Group horses anyway. She has the experience of the run so I don't see why not. "We bought her at the breeze-ups and gave her plenty of time. She's a big, big filly and had plenty of niggly little things. "We're very happy with her now and hopefully she runs a nice race." Ramsa is one of 10 runners in the Classic trial, with Aidan O'Brien relying upon recent Navan winner Just Pretending. Hint Of A Tint, Mizzava, Talitha Kum and We'll Go Walking are other leading contenders.
