Elegant Peace was the facile winner of the extended mile handicap for three-year-olds in Cork as she remained on the bridle passing the post.

She glided past Lady Clitico coming to the furlong pole and Leigh Roche was motionless as she hit the line four and a half lengths to the good at odds of 5/2.

Kris Weld said: “She’s a small filly and Leigh won on her at Leopardstown so we decided to claim off her today. It’s great that she followed up. She handles a cut in the ground well and she’ll go for something similar next.”

Lady Clitico took second at 7/2. She was four and a quarter lengths ahead of 8/1 shot Focussed Ruler Of France was the 9/4 favourite, however, the top weight came home last beaten almost 21 lengths in this five-runner contest.

Elegant Peace won a soft ground nursery when last seen in Leopardstown in November.
