Elleval hoping for dry day in York David Marnane is hoping the rain stays away as his runner Elleval wants the ground on the quicker side for the Ian and Kate Hall Macmillan Ganton Stakes at York on Saturday. The five-year-old has not run since a profitable time in Dubai. "We're going to monitor the ground. There's rain due in on Saturday and we wouldn't want too much, but he's in good form," said Marnane. "He's had a good break since coming back from Dubai. We're just happy to start him off and this looks a good opportunity. "He ran really well there last year in the Strensall Stakes at the Ebor meeting."
