Elliott gives Jessies more time

Gordon Elliott has decided to give Jessies Dream time to recover from his victory in the Drinmore Novices' Chase.

The seven-year-old took full advantage of the last-fence fall of Mikael D'Haguenet to take the Grade One contest over two and a half miles at Fairyhouse by five lengths from Realt Dubh.

Elliott had considered the williamhill.com Feltham Novices' Chase for David Johnson's gelding but now plans him to run him at Leopardstown on January 23.

"Everything's 100%, but the Feltham was only 11 days after he won a Grade One," said the County Meath handler.

"He's come out of the race well but we thought another week or two would do him no harm. He might go to Leopardstown in the middle of January for a Grade Two chase over two mile five."
