Elliott making hay at Perth After a treble on Wednesday (Esporao, Definite All Star and Bondage) Gordon Elliott has another strong team in action at Perth on Thursday with his latest raiding party spearheaded by Carlito Brigante in the Crabbie's Alcoholic Ginger Beer Novices'Chase. The 2011 Coral Cup hero has already won one of his two starts over fences and Elliott said: "He won comfortably first time at Killarney but it was a little too soft at Kilbeggan and he's a good ground horse. He's a Cheltenham winner and in very good form so we're looking for a decent run." Tom Scudamore, who rides chasing newcomer The Tracey Shuffle for David Pipe in the same race, said: " He's schooled well over fences at home and I'd be hopeful he'd run well in a good race. His hurdle form was very good last season but it tailed off a bit after Punchestown." Talking of some of his other runners Elliott added: "We also have Beef To The Heels and he shouldn't be far away in the second race. He's fine after his fall in Ireland and in good order. "Captain Pierce has his debut in the bumper and he's got a chance if the rain stays away." At Perth on Wednesday, Paul O'Brien enjoyed the first win of his career under Rules on just his second ride when steering home Mulligan's Way in the Better Prices On Betfair Mobile Novices' Hurdle. The 20-year-old from Cork, who is based with winning trainer Donald McCain, has been successful six times in Irish point to points. Jason Maguire stole the show with a 27/1 treble aboard Esporao, Definite All Star and Indepub. The first leg brought up the half century for the season and Maguire said: "I was out injured last season for three months so I didn't come back until mid-November. I'm way ahead this time around and things are going great."
