Elliott maps out Royal Ascot plan for Pallasator Gordon Elliott is eyeing an appearance at Royal Ascot for Pallasator following his impressive win over hurdles at Fairyhouse on Sunday. Formerly a top-class stayer on the Flat when trained by Sir Mark Prescott, the nine-year-old moved to Ireland last autumn to pursue a jumping career. He claimed his second win from four starts over hurdles when striking in Grade Two company over the weekend, but could revert to the level later in the year. Elliott said: "He was very good. Davy (Russell) said he hated the ground, but he's enjoying jumping and he's got a new lease of life. "The plan now would be to go Punchestown, all being well, and we might go back to Ascot then for one of those long-distance Flat races." Elliott enjoyed a four-timer across Fairyhouse and Cork on Easter Sunday, but the one that got away was Shattered Love in the Ryanair Gold Cup. The seven-year-old was a hot favourite to supplement her comprehensive victory in the JLT Novices' Chase at the Cheltenham Festival, but had to make do with the runner-up spot behind Al Boum Photo. "I thought she was a bit unlucky," Elliott told At The Races. "She was slow away from the back of the last, but all credit has to go to the winner. He pulled it out and won well on the day."
