Trainer Gordon Elliott was eclipsed by rivals Willie Mullins and Gavin Cromwell over the weekend but the Gold Cup-winner landed Punchestown’s concluding Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Bumper today, with Forceonmyown (13/2).

Mullins and Cromwell bagged five winners apiece during a rare blank weekend for Elliott but today Forceonmyown, under jockey Harry Swan for owners Blue Riband Racing, quickened nicely in the final furlong to beat Jem’s Lilly by 2.75 lengths.

Regarding his ex-winning pointer, Elliott said “Forceonmyown is a tough little mare and has a big heart. I wasn’t sure that she’d win a bumper and thought she’d be more one to go jumping. I only had her about three or four weeks before she ran in Limerick and Denis Ahern sent her up to me. He owns her along with a few friends.

“I’d imagine she will go jumping now.”
