Elyaadi back in action over timber John Queally's Elyaadi takes a big drop in class from a Longchamp Group One to a Listed hurdle race at Punchestown on Wednesday. Although still without a victory in 2011, the seven-year-old did run a highly creditable second in the Queen Alexandra Stakes at Royal Ascot She made the running for a long way in the Prix du Cadran on Arc day before fading and was actually disqualified after Kieren Fallon weighed in light. She returns to the National Hunt sphere for the Grabel Mares Hurdle and Queally hopes her French jaunt has not left its mark. "She looks to have come out of the Longchamp race fine but she has had a busy enough year and I just hope it's not a race too many," said Queally. "She's run some good races this year but unfortunately, she's got nothing to show for it. She is a difficult mare to win with. "It would obviously be great to win a Listed race with her and if the French race hasn't taken too much out of her, I think she'll be hard to beat." Elyaadi is among a field of 12 declared runners in the two-mile two-furlong contest, with Chaperoned, Jacksonslady, Shadow Eile and Dazzling Susie all major players.
