Enemy strikes again for Magee Arch Enemy bagged her fourth victory of the season when running out a game winner of the Paddy Woods Memorial Apprentice Handicap at Bellewstown. The grey went to post an easy-to-back 9/1 shot despite coming into the mile-and-a-half contest in winning form. Adam Grant produced his mount to lead two furlongs from home and Paddy Magee’s charge held the late challenge of Miss Australie to record a half-length win. Magee said: "She's unbelievable! She's just a very good mare, very sound and so easy to train. She got a great ride off Adam. "He actually rang me a couple of weeks ago and he said he was interested in coming in to ride out. “Fair play to him, he actually met me on the beach on Sunday morning when it was teeming with rain. Only he said he was going to be there, I probably would have turned the box around as the rain was that bad. "He was in my yard on Monday morning, and he was saying about Arch. I said she wasn't going to get in as she was eight on the ballot. He was in the right place at the right time. I'm not actually sure where he lives, but I wouldn't say he is too close to Cavan. "He is well able to ride. One of the lads in the yard spotted him and said to keep an eye on him, that he might be interested. Hopefully, that is the start of something because he is going to come into me a couple of days a week hopefully. He seems to be a good rider. "The plan for a long time now has been to go for the premier handicap in Leopardstown. She won it a couple of years ago. She was out of the handicap that day.
