Eshtiaal wins again at York Gordon Elliott's Eshtiaal recorded his fourth win of the summer as he took the John Smith's Stayers' Handicap at York on Saturday. The five-year-old son of Dynaformer won three handicap hurdles in quick succession in May before finishing a close-up fifth to Jocular in the Apprentice Derby at the Curragh last month. Stepped up in trip to two miles here he was sent off an 8/1 chance under Graham Gibbons. Having chased the leaders throughout he improved to lead over three furlongs from home and he kept on well under pressure inside the final furlong to prevail by three parts of a length. William Of Orange was sent off the 11/4 favourite and he kept on well to take second under Luke Morris for Mark Prescott. Eshtiaal is owned by soccer agents Will Salthouse and Mark McKay.
