A £400k purchase at Cheltenham following an impressive point-to-point win for Cormac Doyle at Lingstown in early March, Palinca made a winning debut under Rules for trainer Henry De Bromhead in the opening Racing TV Free Trial For A Month Maiden Hurdle at Wexford.

Prominent throughout under Darragh O'Keeffe, the Coolmara Stables Limited-owned mare held a definite advantage going out on the final circuit.

Asserting from two out, the 1/3f went clear between the final two flights to register an easy 11-lengths win over Zara's Dream .

"Everyone was liking her at home and she was well recommended after her point-to-point. The Marigas bought her at Cheltenham," said Henry De Bromhead.

"It's nice to see her go and do on the track what we'd been seeing at home. Sometimes that doesn't happen, so it's nice to see. She's an exciting mare for us."
