Exeter goes ahead

This afternoon's meeting at Exeter goes ahead as scheduled after the track passed a second morning inspection at 10am.

Clerk of the course Barry Johnson had not planned to check conditions but after temperatures dropped lower than forecast overnight, he decided to inspect at 8am.

Although that initial check proved inconclusive, Johnson was able to give the National Hunt card the green light a couple of hours later.

He said: "Racing goes ahead as we are up to plus 3C now and it is forecast to reach plus 7C later in the day.

"Nearly all the frost has gone and we are looking forward to a good day."
