Attention turns to the Flat at Limerick this evening where the 0-60 7f handicap has been divided to form an eight-race card with the action commencing at 4.50. Expound bids for a mixed hat-trick in the featured Jim Ryan Racecourse Services Memorial Handicap (6.20) following a Flat win at Ballinrobe and a Clonmel hurdle success last month.

The Denis Hogan-trained gelding faces six rivals in this mile event with Anvika and Bellaphina among the chief dangers.

Gavin Cromwell continues to fire in the winners under both codes and the Danestown trainer has a number of good chances this evening including Flying Fortress in the Conference & Banqueting Facilities @ Limerick Handicap (5.20).

The topweight won a maiden at Ballinrobe last month and may be suited by this step up to an extended 1m3f with Gary Carroll again in the saddle. Tofino is another Cromwell runner that has attracted early morning support in the Summer Racing @ Limerick Handicap (6.50) having been placed on her reappearance at Gowran Park. In The Minus has been backed on a number of occasions this year and despite failing to make the frame in ten starts to date, is again the subject of attention for trainer/rider Sean Davis in division two of the Follow Limerick On Instagram Handicap (7.50).

A Paddy Twomey-trained newcomer is always of interest and Naples a son of Mehmas out of a winning daughter of Dansili, makes his debut under Billy Lee in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden (5.50).

The going at Limerick remains good and the forecast is mainly dry with the possibility of light showers later today.
