FALLON ODDS ON TO REGAIN TITLE

Kieren Fallon is hot favourite with bookmakers William Hill to regain the jockeys` championship, which starts at Doncaster on Thursday.

Fallon won the title in 1997, 1998 and 1999 but lost out to Kevin Darley last year after his season was cut short following a heavy fall at Royal Ascot.

Darley`s start to the new campaign has been delayed due to an injured wrist he sustained in a fall on the gallops on Saturday morning.

David Hood, William Hill spokesman, said: 'Kevin Darley`s wrist injury this weekend is unfortunate timing, but Kieren was odds-on favourite until his injury at Ascot curtailed his season, but if he went through this year injury free he would take an awful lot of beating.'

William Hill bet: 2-5 Kieren Fallon, 11-4 Richard Quinn, 7-1 Kevin Darley, 16-1 Richard Hughes, 20-1 Jamie Spencer, Pat Eddery, 33-1 Frankie Dettori, Jimmy Fortune.

The championship is determined on all winners - turf and all-weather - between March 22nd and November 10th.
