FEHILY HOPING FOR THURSDAY COMEBACK

Noel Fehily is set to return to action later this week after being sidelined since last month through injury, it was revealed today.

The Irishman, who is currently the season`s leading conditional jockey, broke his right collarbone in a fall at Ludlow on December 21st.

'I`ve really missed riding but I`m getting better - slowly but surely,' he said this morning. 'I`ve been having plenty of physio and I`m hoping to be back on Thursday possibly at Wincanton.'

Fehily, 25, who works for Charlie Mann in Lambourn, had been enjoying a purple patch prior to his first fence fall on Real Estate and he added: 'Things were going well with 36 winners so far this season so hopefully I`ll soon get back into the swing.'

One of the rides he missed was on Moral Support, who finished runner-up in the Coral Eurobet Welsh National at Chepstow on December 27th.

Fehily had built up a successful partnership with the nine-year-old, winning four times on Mann`s charge this term and is relishing the prospect of renewing his acquaintance with the gelding.

He said: 'I can`t wait to get back on him.

'He seems fine at present and because he`s still a novice there are plenty of options for him.'
