FUNCTION SET TO BYPASS SHOGUN Function Dream was among the 15 entries announced today for the £65,000 Mitsubishi Shogun Ascot Chase on February 17th. A return to Ascot for the Victor Chandler Chase winner is a 'possibility' according to the mare`s trainer Mary Reveley. However, she is more likely to miss the 19½-furlong Grade One contest in favour of a trip to Newbury seven days earlier for the Game Spirit Chase. Mrs Reveley said today: 'It`s a possibility but it isn`t likely. 'She`ll probably go for the Game Spirit. I think she`s better over two miles.' The 15 entries for the race are headed by Queen Mother Champion Chase favourite Flagship Uberalles. Rivals he could meet include Tiutchev, Cenkos and Bellator. There is a powerful, four-strong Irish entry for the event including Papillon and Commanche Court, winners of the Grand National and Irish National last year for Ted Walsh, and the Willie Mullins-trained pair Florida Pearl and Alexander Banquet.Entries: Alexander Banquet, Bellator, Celibate, Cenkos, Commanche Court, Connor Macleod, Flagship Uberalles, Florida Pearl, Get Real, Nordance Prince, Papillon, The Outback Way, Tiutchev, Function Dream, Native Charm (15).
