Fabre Works His Magic Again In Harcourt French master Andre Fabre captured his eighth Prix d'Harcourt at Longchamp as former German horse Manduro scored on his first outing for his new handler in the prestigious Group Two event. The four-year-old, owned by Baron Von Ullmann, whose Shirocco landed the Breeders' Cup Turf last year under Fabre's auspices, was always handily placed under Stephane Pasquier and flashed down the straight to pass long-time leader Geordieland. The rider had to be alert as Corre Caminos came with a startling late burst in the final two furlongs of the 10-furlong event but the post came too quickly for Thierry Jarnet's mount, who went down by half a length.Fabre's other runner Archange D'Or was a close-up third.'It was an excellent performance on his first outing, there will be more to come,' purred Pasquier.'Once I got him balanced he showed a great turn of foot.'The fact he has won five of his six races (he was fourth in the Group One Premio Roma) shows that he is a class horse.'Jarnet said he was not surprised by the run of Corre Caminos.'I knew he was a top-class horse and it was just a pity that the post came when it did because he was finishing like a train,' he explained. The William Muir-trained Enforcer was sixth under Martin Dwyer but the most disappointing run came from last year's Epsom Derby runner-up Walk In The Park.Having been well placed early under Thierry Gillet, the writing was on the wall turning into the straight and he never got going when asked for an effort, finishing down the field in ninth position in a run remarkably similar to his listless eighth place in the Irish Derby.?
