Fahey sees bright future for Rock after bumper double Governors Rock galloped on powerfully up the straight to record a bumper double, at Ballinrobe this evening. The Mark Fahey-trained gelding had won at Wexford back in July and went to post a 6/1 shot tonight to follow up. David Doyle had his mount prominent throughout and sent him for home passing the two marker. The Joshua Tree gelding pulled clear in the closing stages to record a comprehensive five-and-a-half length win over even-money favourite Blue Waters. Fahey said:- "We think this lad's a very good horse and that was a good performance carrying all that weight. “He seems versatile as well, has won on good ground and can win on soft ground. He's only a four-year-old and has a big career ahead of him. "It was a good call by Fearghal Hogan who liked him when he saw him and picked him out for Jeff (Brennan, owner). "I'm not sure what Jeff's plan is, he does like to sell a few. Whether this lad is on the market or not, I don't know but if someone wanted to buy him, we'd be open to phone calls. We'll see what happens." (Quotes by Mark Nunan)
