Failte Go Deo claimed a dramatic running of the Heart Of Down Maiden Hurdle at Downpatrick.
The Noel Meade-trained favourite (6/4) had just been ridden to dispute at the penultimate flight when leader Some Run ran out through the wing. Russian War who was travelling well in behind, also cocked his jaw and ran out the other side of the hurdle.
Nina Carberry kept the favourite up to his work to score by three lengths over Leading Diamonds
"I'm very pleased ? absolutely delighted," said winning owner Bernie McKinney.
"It's a shame Noel can't be here but he's just had a second operation on his back and is taking things easy at the minute."
